Seattle, WA – January 9, 2020 – Morakniv®, creator of quality Swedish knives since 1891, is proud to introduce a new knife which will debut at SHOT Show in Las Vegas, NV later this month. Building on the success of their award-winning Floating Serrated Knife, the new non-serrated Floating Knife is a lightweight and versatile adventure tool for paddlers, anglers, hikers, and more. While the Floating Serrated Knife, launched in 2018, was primarily developed for the commercial fishing industry, the new Floating Knife was designed to bring the same innovative features to a wider audience of adventurers.

“The knife is designed to be used near water because it floats if you accidentally drop it, but its light weight also makes it an ideal knife for ultralight backpacking and hiking,” says Karolina Eriksson, Product Developer at Morakniv. “Using materials such as cork allows us to create lighter designs, and in this case allows a knife to float. In this way, we can cater to new customer groups and users in more segments worldwide.”

The Floating Knife was developed with thoughtful features that make it a perfect fit for a wide range of activities both on and off the water. The handle features a highly visible lime green polymer core surrounded by cork, ensuring the knife can not only float both in and out of the sheath, but can also be easily spotted if it’s dropped in the water. The barrel-formed ergonomic handle provides a comfortable and secure grip in wet or dry conditions and doesn’t conduct cold. The thin, 3.8” drop-point stainless steel blade is suited to a wide range of applications, and the sheath is made of the same highly visible polymer as the handle’s core. A belt clip and smart button allow the user to connect and link several knives together. The Floating Knife weighs just 1.73 oz.

The Morakniv Floating Knife will launch Spring 2020 and will be on display at SHOT Show in Las Vegas, NV at the Morakniv/Industrial Revolution booth #1446. For more information, contact dan@darbycommunications.com
