Lumos Solar announced that the company’s new SolarZone structures would be featured at the Super Bowl on February 7 in Tampa, FL, marking the fourth time the brand has appeared at the Super Bowl. Lumos Solar’s installation is in partnership with the local utility company in Tampa.

As part of the utility’s sponsorship of the Super Bowl, it will install 24 Lumos SolarZones outdoor furniture solutions to maintaining safe social distancing with shaded seating and solar charging capabilities for laptops and mobile devices. Attendees and the press can visit the installations at Curtis Hixon Park or the NFL Experience in Julian B. Lane Park in downtown Tampa.

“Our mission is to facilitate the widespread adoption of solar energy. We’re honored to have our products featured at world-class events like the Big Game, which provide enormous exposure and opportunity for people to interact with solar energy in a very tangible and accessible way,” said Scott Franklin, President and CEO. “We’re dedicated to making solar energy ubiquitous and relevant to people’s everyday lives.”

At the Super Bowl in years past, Lumos Solar worked with local companies to create installations for those in attendance. In 2017, it worked with DLR Group to create a solar canopy at NRG Stadium. In 2019, the company worked with HOK Architect Hannah Solar and Georgia Power to create a custom solar canopy for the Mercedes Benz Stadium. And in 2020, it worked with Florida Power & Light to develop a curved solar walkway in the Miami Bayfront Park.

Lumos Solar has created more than 50 projects in Florida, including the Miami Bayfront Park, Naples Zoo, Kennedy Space Center, Palm Beach International Airport, Zoo Miami, Manatee Viewing Center, and more.
