Keeping Shoes Out of Landfills, Consumers’ Favorite Boots Repaired and Resoled in 12 Weeks
STAMFORD, CONN. (Mar. 2, 2021) – LOWA Boots, LCC, the global footwear brand known for its nearly 100 years of hand-crafted European heritage, answers growing consumer demand for its Repair and Resole Program with a new online ordering system. Consumers wishing to preserve their favorite LOWA backpacking, mountaineering and mountain hunting categories can now quickly place an order for their boots to be repaired and resoled, 24/7. All of the refurbishing work is performed by master cobblers at the LOWA factory in Germany where the boots were originally produced. From start to finish, the service takes approximately 12 weeks and is $125.
The process is simple — upon submitting orders on LOWA’s Boot and Repair Program option online, users fill out a pre-prepared form and ship their boots to LOWA’s U.S. warehouse in Stamford, Connecticut. The boots are then shipped to LOWA’s factory in Jetzendorf, Germany. Upon completion, the boots are shipped back directly to the consumer.
“This resole and repair initiative enables outdoor enthusiasts to keep their beloved boots out of expanding landfills,” said Peter Sachs, general manager of LOWA. “In addition to being sustainable, extending the longevity of their shoes only enhances the value and durability over the long term. We know we have a responsibility as company to do what we can to protect the environment. This not only provides a benefit to the consumer, but also, helps to minimize unnecessary waste.”
In addition to resoling boots, LOWA provides new footbeds, new shoelaces, and will recondition leather uppers. If needed, LOWA craftsmen and women will also repair stitching, hooks, eyelets and the heel lining.
