IDSTEIN, Germany – May 8, 2019 – Jack Wolfskin’s Spring Summer 2019 collection of clothing, footwear, packs, sleeping bags, and tents is now arriving at retailers. The line is notable because it sets benchmarks for sustainability and resource protection among outdoor manufacturers.

The Spring Summer 2019 collection includes milestones such, clothing, backpacks, and sleeping bags that are 100 percent PFC-free, and jackets and pants using Jack Wolfskin’s proprietary Texapore Ecosphere technology, which consists of 100 percent recycled membranes, outer materials and linings, all certified by the Global Recycling Standard.

“We’re excited about our product innovation and sustainability efforts in this season’s line,” said Daniele Grasso, Jack Wolfskin’s director of apparel. “Jack Wolfskin has a strong heritage of delivering quality outdoor products based on German design and engineering. Retailers and consumers will appreciate the level of detail and execution, a true point of differentiation that will be a driving force for years to come.”

With a history of commitment to the environment, Jack Wolfskin set a goal for its complete range to be PFC-free by 2020 and achieved it a full year ahead of schedule with its clothing line. In addition, 79 percent of Jack Wolfskin’s equipment products and 100 percent of its backpacks and bags are PFC-free, making the brand a sound choice for environmentally aware consumers.

Alongside of the brand’s focus on sustainability and resource protection, for this season, it took its design inspiration from the lifestyle and environments of Australia and New Zealand, incorporating patterns and features from the Southern Hemisphere countries.

The Texapore Ecosphere series consists of a total of 11 styles of jackets, five in the company’s Active Outdoor line and six in its Everyday Outdoor Line. An example in the Active Outdoor line is the Kanuka Ridge, a lightweight three-layer waterproof breathable technical shell with a water column rating of 20,000 mm and 15,000 g/m2 and 24-hour breathability. MSRP is $299.95.

In the company’s Everyday Outdoor collection, the women’s Cape York coat also features Texapore Ecosphere for waterproof breathable performance. From the outside, it has a simple, classic look but inside its fully lined with soft, recycled taffeta fabric with a tropical print. When zipped up, the lining in the hood is still visible, providing a playful detail. An understated coat suitable for both office and leisure wear, its MSRP is understated as well at $189.95.

On the hardgoods side of the business, the company offers a broad and deep line of outdoor and lifestyle packs, as well as tents and sleeping bags, all with a focus on user performance, sustainability, and long-term durability.

The Kalari and Kingston backpacks use recycled fabrics and are PFC-free. Kalari packs range in size from 36 to 56 liters with MSRPs from $119.95 to $189.95, and the Kingston packs are from 12 liters to 30 with MSRPs ranging from $79.95 to $99.95.

Sleeping bag wise, Jack Wolfskin’s PFC-free RE Smoozip bags are insulated with Microguard Ecosphere and lined with Nanuk Ecosphere fleece, both of which are made from recycled materials. Available in two models, the RE Smoozip +16 is $239.95 and RE Smoozip +32 is $219.95. Both come in men’s and women’s versions. Depending on the model, it takes anywhere from 35 to 50 plastic bottles to make a bag, which means a few less bottles making their way to the landfill.

Jack Wolfskin also offers an extensive line of performance and lifestyle footwear for men, women, and children. MSRPs range from $49.95 to $229.95. A key model in the Spring Summer line is the Rock Hunter, available with or without Texapore, and in either mid- or low-top versions. MSRP for the Rock Hunter ranges from $119 to $169.
