Gordini, a leader in cold weather innovation since 1956, introduces its Artist Series mitts for men and women, featuring the artwork of two female environmental artists.  New for Fall 2024 and now available online, the Gordini Artist Series showcases heat-embossed designs by artists Jordan Kendall Parks, who is based in Portland, Maine, and Zoe Malee, based in Bellingham, Washington.

Both artists are heavily influenced by the natural world and bring their work to life on Gordini’s MTN Crew Artist Mitts. The mitts utilize Clutch synthetic leather, a waterproof, windproof, breathable insert; 600-fill Downtek insulation with a high-pile fleece lining, neoprene short cuff and secured with a wrist leash. Available in two prints, men’s “Glacial Pool” by Kendall Parks and women’s “Snowflake Crystallization” by Malee.

“As an outdoor brand, we have the responsibility to inspire our winter community and protect our wild spaces,” said Gordini Marketing Communications Manager Brett Wagenheim.  “We believe in the power of art to create new perspectives, inspire meaningful change, and build connections to place.  Working with Jordan and Zoe was an absolute dream and gives Gordini the opportunity to spark deeper joy and build awareness around the fragility of our future in the outdoors.”

Malee is a designer and illustrator who is driven by the challenge of communicating strong and authentic storytelling through creative visual representation. Much of her inspiration comes from growing up recreating in the outdoors of the Pacific Northwest and its organic forms in the natural world.

Kendall Parks uses art to spark conversations around place, existence, and belonging. Their work is heavily influenced by the human relationship with the natural world and each other, focusing on cultivating interactive outdoor exhibitions that encourage people to engage with their surroundings, find a sense of adventure, and discover art along the way.

“When creating this illustration, I was thinking of places heavily affected by climate change.  I wanted people to not just connect with the imagery but to look deeper into it,” said Kendall Parks.  “This project felt like working with friends. It was a true collaboration, and we were able to create something really cool together. I hope my work inspires people to connect with nature, whether that’s taking a walk in a park or visiting national parks.  If that connection leads even a few people to care more about the environment and each other, then that means everything to me.”
