Gnarly Nutrition announced that all of its powdered supplements are now NSF-Certified.* NSF certification ensures that products meet strict public health protection standards.
There are two levels of NSF certification.
- NSF Content Certified Products undergo independent testing for label claims and contaminants—meaning that the ingredients listed on the label are the contents found inside. All products from Gnarly Nutrition are NSF Content Certified.
- NSF for Sport Certified Products, ensure athlete safety when competing at an elite level and with strict anti-doping rules. Products are tested for over 270 banned substances, including stimulants, narcotics, steroids, diuretics, and masking agents.
Several flavors of Gnarly products are NSF for Sport Certified, in addition to NSF Content Certification.
To be NSF Certified (either type of certification), every aspect of a product’s development is evaluated from extensive product testing and material analyses to unannounced plant inspections. NSF certification involves regular on-site inspections of manufacturing facilities and routine re-testing of products to ensure that they continue to meet NSF standards required to maintain certification.
“Gnarly recognizes the importance of the NSF Certification process in providing transparency to all customers purchasing nutrition products, especially athletes,” said Shannon O’Grady, COO, Gnarly Nutrition. “Our purpose in seeking NSF certification for Gnarly Nutrition products is to start rebuilding consumer trust and validate the effort and resources we’ve invested in creating high-quality and effective products. This is why we chose to pursue NSF Certification, and we are so excited to bring this to our loyal customers.”
*NSF was founded in 1944 as the National Sanitation Foundation to help standardize sanitation and food safety at a time when the United States had no national sanitation standards. As NSF expanded services beyond sanitation and became a global public health and safety organization, we changed our name to NSF in 1990.
