As the COVID-19 pandemic continues and the world scrambles to meet the shortage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including gloves, GHS Holdings announced the launch of its BlocAid Gloves engineered with EcoZinc to inhibit the growth and the spread of harmful microbes and to provide an alternative antimicrobial solution to latex gloves which, when disposed of, are hazardous to the environment.

Engineered with EcoZinc embedded and extruded into recycled poly blend fiber, the technology inhibits the growth and spread of harmful microbes. The gloves have self-cleaning properties which enable them to be re-used and washed without losing efficacy. Zinc, generally regarded as safe by the FDA, can be ingested and applied topically. The gloves have a UPF rating of 50+ (with an actual rating of 99.996 percent UVA/UVB 100 percent protection).

“The objective is to leverage my 30+ years of expertise in glove making, to bring a solution-based product to help contain the spread of COVID-19 and provide an additional level of safety for family, friends and community. Hands are a secondary source of contracting this virus. By practicing safe hand hygiene protocols, we can offer an added layer of protection for a cleaner personal environment,” said Gary Schloss, CEO, GHS Holdings.
