San Diego, CA, July 6, 2020 – ElliptiGO Inc., creator of the world’s first elliptical bicycle, announced today that it is the title sponsor of the ElliptiGO Bike for Humanity II cycling event with Bill Walton and Friends (www.bikeforhumanity.com). Bike for Humanity II will take place around the world on Saturday, July 25th, 2020 with a goal of raising $1 million for charity. Joining Walton in raising awareness for the event are marathon legend Meb Keflezighi, winner of the Boston Marathon and New York City Marathon, and world famous ultramarathoner Dean Karnazes.

“The inaugural Bike for Humanity event in 2019 raised more than $100,000, and our goal is to dramatically increase participation and fundraising by inspiring thousands of people around the world to get out on their bikes or ElliptiGOs and have fun while raising money for really worthy causes,” said Bryan Pate, CEO of ElliptiGO.

Participants can choose where, when and what distance to ride on July 25th. Registration is available through the Bike for Humanity website bikeforhumanity.com. “Even though we won’t be riding near each other, we will be riding together as a global community of people who love their bikes, love having fun and love supporting great charities. I want to thank every one of the riders for making this event truly special,” said Walton, a member of the NBA Hall of Fame, who’s also the lead rider and inspiration behind Bike for Humanity.

In honor of Walton’s impressive height, riders are required to stay at least 6’11” apart during the ride in accordance with social distancing guidelines. Proceeds from Bike for Humanity II will benefit four outstanding nonprofits: The Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Free Bikes 4 Kidz, No Kid Hungry and The Rex Foundation.
