Dakine is excited to announce it is growing its mountain bike category for Spring 2021 with the addition of high-performance riding footwear alongside an updated technical apparel line. The new mountain bike footwear is a testament to Dakine’s ongoing mission to innovate in the mountain bike space by providing trusted equipment so that riders can remain focused on progressing their skills with every pedal stroke. In addition, updated and new styles within the apparel collection provide added comfort on the bike, from park laps to backcountry epics, allowing riders to have a great day on the bike no matter where the ride takes them.
“Dakine has been a key player in the progression of mountain biking for more than 20 years,” says Dakine’s Mountain Marketing Manager, Gabe Schroder. “It is only natural that our brand continues to progress as well, and providing shoes truly rounds out our product line. On the apparel side, having pro team riders like Thomas Vanderham on the roster is a big help as well. He has been with Dakine apparel from the beginning and has such a deep knowledge of fit and materials, as well as an ability to articulate what works best.”
Since 2000 when Dakine introduced their first mountain bike product, the brand has been relentlessly innovating their gear with athletes around the globe that have helped to define and push the sport to new limits. This is further exemplified by the introduction of their new mountain bike shoe collection, Drift (MSRP $140), offered in both men’s and women’s models for flat pedal riders. Technical features of the Drift include a soft and grippy rubber outsole with simple patterns for on-the-fly adjustments, DK FlexRide shank for support and stability and durable PU upper foam tongue for improved heat and moisture exhaust. Designed for year-round riding, the Drift presents a stylish and technical shoe that any level mountain biker will appreciate.
“It’s more than a shoe, it’s a piece of equipment that riders depend on,” says Nate McGinnis from Dakine. “We did a lot of real-world testing on the trails to ensure the performance, the fit, the walking comfort and the durability met or exceeded our expectations. We’re proud of the product we’ve put forward with our Drift MTB shoe.”
Building upon Dakine’s trusted and respected technical riding apparel line, the brand has updated key styles for improved comfort and fit as well as added Vectra and Syncline silhouettes to the women’s collection to keep riders feeling good for the ride ahead. Updated products in the collection include the Thrillium Jersey in long sleeve (MSRP $75) and short sleeve (MSRP $70), Thrillium Short (MSRP $120), Vectra Jersey in long sleeve (MSRP $60) and short sleeve (MSRP $55), Syncline Jersey in long sleeve (MSRP $55) and short sleeve (MSRP $50) and Syncline Short (MSRP $70). These styles have been updated with four-way stretch construction, UPF sun protection and simplified yet timeless silhouettes. Geared towards gravity focused riders and extending the season into the colder months, the Thrillium Pant (MSRP $160) is designed to add protection and comfort for all day park laps and enduro style riding.
Dakine’s new footwear will be available on May 13, 2021, while the new technical riding apparel is already available at Dakine.com and at select retailers.
