Dakine announced it is this year’s official vest sponsor of the Natural Selection Tour (NST), an event where snowboarders compete on some of the most challenging natural terrains. The three-stop tour began January 25 at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort and runs through January 31. The NST continues to Baldface Lodge in February and concludes at the Tordillo Mountains in late March.
As part of the agreement, Dakine will outfit riders and event staff with a custom Dakine Poacher RAS Vest with a removable airbag for avalanche safety.
The Dakine Poacher RAS Vest offers a low-profile to hold essential gear without weighing you down or throwing you off balance during ride time. The vest takes its leanings from the Poacher technical snow backpacks. And the vest is compatible with Mammut’s Removable Airbag System 3.0
Safety features include front access pockets with a beacon anchor, a pocket for snow tools and a rescue whistle on the sternum strap. External attachment points allow for a diagonal ski carry and vertical snowboard carry, while an internal climbing skin pocket helps skin glue stay warm. The vest is also compatible with Dakine’s Impact Spine Protector.
“We are excited to collaborate with The Natural Selection Tour, an event series that has reshaped the landscape of modern snowboard contests to bring the highest level of backcountry riding into households around the world,” said Dakine Senior Brand Director, Colleen Quigley. “As a rider-driven brand, this partnership allows us to highlight Dakine’s commitment to backcountry performance, durability and the snow community. We are proud to provide one of our most trusted backcountry products, the Poacher RAS Vest, to their roster of world-class riders.”
