Salt Lake City, UT, May 19, 2020 — Cotopaxi, Benefit Corporation, outdoors brand, and founders of the popular Questival event series, today announced a second virtual adventure race for 2020, the Seize the Día Questival. The BCorp outdoors brand held its first-ever virtual Questival Quaranteam on April 23, which was the most attended Questival event ever with 3,700 participants.
Having raised $18,000 for Covid-19 relief programs for the International Rescue Committee (IRC) from the previous Quaranteam event, Cotopaxi seized the moment and will hold a Seize the Día Questival on the longest day of the year, June 20th. Coinciding with World Refugee Day, a portion of sales will again go towards benefitting local IRC programs for COVID-relief in underserved communities.
Designed to fuel family-friendly adventure and create true connections during this time of caution and distancing, Cotopaxi’s Seize the Día Questival tasks teams of 1-6 people to enjoy a safe yet exploratory activity, with challenge categories including ones such as Do Good, Foodie, Quirky and All-Day Adventure.
Using the Cotopaxi Questival app, available on iPhone and Android, participants upload videos and pictures of completed challenges within the 18 hours and 30-minute timeframe. Teams from around the globe will not only compete against but also judge each other, and the top 10 teams will win coveted prizes totaling over $6,000 from Cotopaxi.
“What we saw from Questival Quaranteam was truly inspiring,” said Davis Smith, Cotopaxi CEO. “Families and friends connected virtually and engaged with each other to create memories and moments that are harder to come by during this current global situation. We feel honored to bring Seize the Día Questival to life, and host another opportunity for meaningful experience-based engagements that support our community partners.”
