Gordini, a leader in cold-weather gear innovation for more than 65 years, announces an expansion to its team of athletes with the addition of backcountry skier and professional mountain biker Celeste Pomerantz.  Pomerantz joins Julian Carr, Gaby Palko, Rafael Pease and Michael “Bird” Shaffer as Gordini Athlete Team members.

Raised nomadic before settling in Vancouver, Pomerantz splits her seasons as a backcountry skier and professional mountain biker, as well as a full-time graduate student in alternative energy.  A 2024 nominee for standout female mountain biker of the year in the IF3 MTB film awards, Pomeranz is also an athlete and scientist for the Protect our Winters organization.

“Celeste’s dynamic of not only a versatile outdoor athlete but also a scientist studying alternative energy was very exciting to us as a great fit for our Gordini team and family,” said Brett Wagenheim, Gordini marketing director.  “‘We are extremely thoughtful around who we bring into our team of athletes to represent the Gordini brand, and Celeste’s lifestyle that is focused on both the pursuit of adventure in the outdoors as well as protecting that outdoor environment really resonates with us.  We are looking forward to seeing what else she accomplishes as she settles into the Gordini family.”

Gordini continues to build on its history of collaboration with its athlete team. The brand’s Cirque and Front Line Products were thoughtfully designed through its long-term partnerships with Julian Carr and Rafa Pease, respectively.  Julian Carr is a professional skier and founder of the Cirque Mountain Running series, where he champions trail access and fosters community engagement.  Rafael Pease is a backcountry splitboarder, social and environmental activist and film maker. His work reflects and instills a deep respect and responsibility for wild landscapes and vulnerable populations.  Skier, sailor, artist, former Alaska public radio host and current environmentalist Gaby Palko, calls Valdez, Alaska, home and advises on sustainable practices within the outdoor industry, while “Bird” Shaffer is recognized for pushing the sport of freeride and speed flying to new heights with originality, endless positive energy and lighthearted humor.
