Petaluma, CA, November 21, 2019– CamelBak ®, the global leader in award-winning personal hydration products, announces the launch of the Pivot Bottle. Made of a 10% renewable plant-based material called ECHO™, the new Pivot Bottle is part of an expansion of the commuter-focused Pivot collection that launched in early 2019 with a focus on renewable and repurposed materials.
“This Pivot Bottle is the first of its kind for CamelBak,” said Steve Nadler, vice president of marketing and product management at CamelBak. “The Pivot Bottle represents years of our Sustainability Team’s impactful innovation in maintaining our promised quality to CamelBak fans while making our products as environmentally friendly as possible.”
For 30 years, CamelBak has been committed to eco-friendly business practices with a mission to design durable personal hydration products as an alternative to single-use, disposable products that create waste. CamelBak’s Research and Development and Sustainability Team, an internal group of professionals committed to engineering new ways to reduce the carbon footprint of CamelBak’s supply chain process, has been working on a more sustainable material for over two years. ECHOT™ is a 10% renewable plant-based material that doesn’t compromise the durability or cleanability of the product. The Pivot Bottle is lightweight, durable, as well as odor and stain-resistant. The grab-and-go Carry Cap twists to open and is compatible with Eddy®+, Carry Cap, Chute® Mag, and Hot Cap vessels.
Coinciding with the Pivot bottle launch, CamelBak also announces a new brand partnership with bluesign ® System to further enhance sustainable solutions in the brand’s supply chain. The bluesign® system unites the entire textile supply chain to jointly reduce its impact on people and the environment with a goal to link chemical suppliers, textile manufacturers, and brands together to foster a healthy, responsible, and profitable industry. As a bluesign partner, CamelBak joins a group of like-minded brands with a collective commitment to environmental responsibility in production.
As part of the process of becoming a bluesign ® System brand partner, CamelBak completed a thorough brand assessment to help identify areas that can make meaningful improvements in sourcing systems and supply chain. The assessment process ensures the responsible use of resources that aim to protect our environment, workers, and consumers from exposure to harmful chemicals. All bluesign® approved materials that are used in CamelBak products comply with strict criteria regarding safe chemicals and resource-efficient, earth-friendly production processes. Starting in Spring 2021, CamelBak will introduce bluesign® -approved fabrics into select styles.
