Aquasphere, the triathlon and swim brand, launched the DEFY.Ultra swim mask for open water swimmers, with frameless construction and clear panoramic vision. The release also marks the Aquasphere’s 24th Anniversary.
The DEFY.Ultra offers the company’s Cool-Inject Frameless construction and DuoCurve lens technology. Cool silicone is injected directly onto the lens resulting in ultra-light frameless construction, while the spherical and cylindrical combination in the single lens offers a wide field of vision. These features enable an expansion in line of sight for open water swimmers with a contoured, leak-free seal for comfort, durability and a hydrodynamic shape designed for speed.
A low-profile compact skirt brings the lens closer to the eye to increase the field of vision, and the ergonomic nose piece reduces drag. An integrated rotating buckle attaches the strap to the lens for a fine-tuned fit.
“Aquasphere set the bar high 25 years ago when we changed the industry by creating the very first swim mask and, as a brand, we continue to forge our own path,” said Jessica Fitzsimon, vice president of Global Marketing, Brands & Categories. “The mantra of ‘be limitless’ impacts everything we do as we push the boundaries to redefine the swim eyewear category once again with the DEFY.Ultra. This technologically advanced swim mask leads with never-before-seen design features created to elevate sports performance and inspire the free spirit of swimmers worldwide.”
The DEFY.Ultra will be released in limited quantities with three lens options chosen for open water swimmers in mind. The lens offerings include yellow titanium mirrored for light protection and enhanced contrast, indigo titanium mirrored with increased glare reduction and enhanced yellow and orange tints, and smoke which protects against bright light and maintains natural color saturation.
