prAna has signed a sublease for the 6,651-square-foot store at 1147
Pearl St. in Boulder, CO. Liz Claiborne Inc., the parent of prAna,
initially will lease the space and then sublease it to prAna after the
companies split ways, according the Boulder County Business Report.
As reported, Claiborne is exploring the sale of several non-core
brands, including prAna. Claiborne bought a 60% ownership stake in
prAna about two years ago for $34.4 million plus performance based
earn-outs. The pending sale of the brand apparently is having no impact
on day-to-day operations, with prAna continuing its retail plans
announced last year and also acquiring Scapegoat Outerwear just before
OR Summer Market.
