Rogers Corporation's new business development manager for Poron Cushioning, Dave Sherman, has been invited to present “Impact Mitigation Designs with Foams” at the ninth biennial International Sports Engineering Association (ISEA) Conference, which will be held July 9-13, 2012 at the University of Massachusetts -Lowell.
The ISEA is the distinguished professional organization for the rapidly-growing discipline of Sports Engineering research and industrial development in the world.
The Engineering of Sport conference is held every two years and attracts the worldfs leading industrial and academic research and development engineers. Colleagues from around the world attend to exchange ideas and discover what the next biggest trends in Sports Engineering will be. Committee members expect the conference will draw media with an eye on the London 2012 Olympics just two weeks later.

Shermanfs presentation will provide designers, product developers and engineers with technical information, features and benefits, tools for meeting challenging design criteria and current trends in various foam developments to improve the safety, comfort and performance of impact equipment and apparel. @
Sherman will also give demonstrations on the different types of impacts typically seen in team sports. He will review common standards for apparel and equipment and discuss future implications of possible changes to these standards. Sherman will conclude by delivering information collected from both internal evaluations and testing across Rogersf wide-range of markets including information from partnerships with leaders throughout the sporting industry.
