Polartec®, the leading manufacturer of performance fabrics, announces the launch of the Made Possible College Challenge, a contest aimed at collegiate outdoor programs and clubs that will award one school with $10,000 and Polartec apparel to support its outdoor programming.

We believe collegiate outdoor programs play an important role in fostering the next generation of outdoor enthusiasts,” states Polartec Global Director of Marketing, Nate Simmons. “These outdoor programs encourage students to get outside, gain valuable leadership skills and pass along the ethics of environmental stewardship.”

In 2010, after weeks of voting and over 28,000 votes, Appalachian State University was awarded the first $10,000 Polartec Made Possible Challenge grant. Appalachian State University used the funds to set up a scholarship that is helping to fund outdoor adventures for hundreds of students.

To enter, please visit madepossible.polartec.com and submit either a short video or document telling Polartec what the club would do with the $10,000. Polartec will accept entries until November 30, 2011 at midnight. At that point, Polartec will pick four finalists and the winner will be determined in a public vote on facebook.com/polartec. It will be up to finalists to win the votes of friends, classmates and the public until the winners are announced Feb. 1, 2012.
