POINT 3 Basketball, the new basketball-only apparel company based in Atlanta, announced the opening of its online store, marking the first time that POINT 3 will be made available to the public for purchase.

After more than twelve months of research, development and testing, POINT 3 said it will bring its concept of Evolution in Basketball Gear to the consumer market. By focusing exclusively on apparel for the basketball player, the six styles to be released in POINT 3's Online Store incorporate patented textile technology and design, and the brand has developed an underground following amongst avid basketball players.

“Unlike other sports, apparel for the game of basketball has failed to evolve,” said POINT 3 Basketball Founder & CEO Michael Luscher. “It's been the same companies, providing the same gear on court for decades. POINT 3 has designed apparel and developed fabrics that show innovation on the basketball court doesn't always need to come from the ankles down.”

POINT 3's six styles to be released in 2010 include: BASE (Snug Fit Undershirt), BALLER (Performance Game Shorts), FREE (Sleeveless Shooting Shirt), HOODIE (Outdoor Training Top), SAK (Basketball Gear
Bag) and SHOOTER (Shooting Sleeve). Several styles incorporate POINT 3’s Patent Pending DRYV Moisture Control! technology, designed to absorb moisture where basketball players need it most.

POINT 3 will be available for retail purchase exclusively in the greater Atlanta area by mid-December through Walter's Clothing and at select sports specialty retailers in Spring, 2011.
