POC, which is launching its first helmet for road cyclists this spring, has will provide apparel, helmets and eyewear to the California-based road racing team that will now compete at the amateur level as the POC + Ritte Cycling Team.

“It was a relief to stumble across Ritte,” said Stefan Ytterborn, CEO and founder of POC, a Swedish manufacturer of skiing and cycling helmets, eyewear, body armor and accessories. “They have an outstanding approach to design, color and graphics and we are very proud to have the team riding with the full POC kit. Cycling is not only about crossing the finish line first, but to have fun. The team’s passionate, positive and enthusiastic attitude to road cycling simply makes you happy.”

Based in California, Ritte hand crafts competition bicycles.

The team will be competing in amateur road races in the Western United States with a roster of 17 cyclists, comprised of state champions, lawyers, school teachers, architects, actors and NASA employees.

“We are excited to be fielding this team with POC and are already blown away by the quality and function of POC’s products.” says Spencer Canon, founder of Ritte Bicycles. “I really think POC will revolutionize the way cyclists think about helmets and I’m proud that we can be an early adopter.”

The collaboration with Ritte is a grass-roots compliment to three-year partnership with team Garmin-Sharp. POC has also partnered with Volvo Car Group to explore safety solutions between motorists and cyclists.

“In contrast to our partnership with Garmin-Sharp, team POC + Ritte is an opportunity for us to support at a level which is closer to the broader group of racers and cycling enthusiasts around the world,” says Ytterborn. “It is going to be an exciting and energizing journey together with Ritte”.
