Cascade Designs, Inc.’s Platypus brand of hydration products has signed on as a major sponsor of the 2011 Leadville Race Series.

The Leadville Race Series, now in its twenty-ninth year, stretches across three months and hosts thousands of trail running and mountain biking endurance athletes from around the world. Beginning at the end of June and running through September 4, 2011 in Leadville, CO, the series features two training camps and nine competitive trail running and mountain biking events. The courses challenge athletes to push themselves as they ascend the Colorado Rockies at elevations from 9200 to 12,600 feet (2800 to 3850 meters).  During the span of this competition, some will attempt to complete multiple courses as part of the events Epic Challenge for the chance at a title and their place in Leadville history.

We are so excited to be a part of this iconic event, and to support endurance athletes in this extreme challenge. Its a great opportunity to see our products in action, said Jim Boswell, Division Marketing Director for Hydration at Cascade Designs. Were looking forward to talking a lot about hydration with the athletes and spectators, and getting product feedback from such an elite group of athletes as we continuously improve and expand our line.

As the exclusive hydration sponsor, Platypus hydration will have representatives on-site Aug. 13-14 for the 100-Mile Mountain Bike Race and 10K Run, and Aug. 20-21 for the 100-mile Run, with product displays, information, giveaways and promotions. Although the 100-Mile Mountain Bike race is currently sold out, the brand is recruiting a team of qualifying athletes through the Platypus brand Facebook page, and will provide paid entry for the finalists.

Platypus brand hydration products include; weatherproof Origin hydration packs with integrated hydration, clean designs and a refined fit; taste-free, BPA-free, lightweight and durable hands-free hydration reservoirs and hand-held hydration bottles; and  pump-free water treatment and storage for camp.

The Leadville Race Series is owned and operated by Life Time–The Healthy Way of Life Company.
