PickUp USA Fitness is set to open its first location in Montana and added a new franchise location in San Bernardino, CA. The company, headquartered in Southern California, is said to be the nation’s largest basketball gym chain and caters to youth and adult basketball players.

PickUp USA, headquartered in Southern California, owns and operates basketball-focused fitness clubs catering to youth and adult basketball players. The new Montana City, MT facility has a regulation basketball court weight and cardio room. For adults, the gym will offer pickup basketball with referees and access to the fitness room. For youth, the gym provides one-on-one basketball training and youth basketball development leagues.

PickUp USA opened its first club in Irwindale, CA, in 2012. The company’s original concept catered exclusively to adult basketball players and focused on providing an enhanced pickup basketball experience with referees, scorekeeping and a proprietary game queue to organize teams. The concept gained traction and expanded to include youth programming.

In 2017, PickUp USA was franchised and is reportedly the largest basketball gym brand in the United States.

In a recorded interview, Lauren Sanchez, PickUp USA’s franchise support associate, discussed the opening of its latest club. “The brand has a lot of momentum right now,” said Sanchez. “We are opening one to two clubs each month and are particularly excited about the Montana City location. This is an area that has a lot of basketball players and a lack of available facilities to service that demand. We think the market is going to respond very well to us.”

The PickUp USA club in Montana City is a franchised location owned by local residents Tyrone and Ashley Lucas. “I am very passionate about helping kids succeed in life and in sports,” said Tyrone. “PickUp USA is the perfect fit for our community and will help reach hundreds of adult and youth basketball players.”

The company also opened a new franchise in San Bernardino, CA, owned by resident Jano Mazmanian. “I’ve been playing basketball all my life,” said Mazmanian. “I played on teams and even coached a bit. One of my main reasons for starting PickUp USA is to be able to work and make money at a place I enjoy going to. I also am excited to be able to start something and grow it and see the success of the business and its employees, as well as the kids and parents enjoying the club.”

Aaron Magno, PickUp USA’s VP of marketing and sales, said there is built-up demand in the market for PickUp USA. “Our club in Irwindale, CA, has been servicing the area for eleven years. The market has been eager for us to expand throughout Los Angeles and the inland empire. All indications are that San Bernardino is going to be a top-performing club for us.”
