PickUp USA Fitness, headquartered in Irwindale, CA, sealed an agreement for new franchises in California and Arizona after launching its franchise program in May 2016.
Founded in 2011, PickUp USA gyms are full-service fitness clubs with a focus on basketball.
Their clubs offer group and private basketball training, weight and cardio rooms, lounges, locker rooms, retail merchandise, and the company’s main attraction – pickup basketball with referees.
“We’ve received hundreds of inquiries from individuals interested in opening up a PickUp USA. It’s a great opportunity to start a business doing something that you love,” said PickUp USA Founder and President Jordan Meinster.
Jay Bhakta, one of PickUp USA’s new franchisees in Arizona, is an experienced business owner, who has owned and operated close to a dozen franchises. Bhakta will be developing his first PickUp USA location just outside of Phoenix in the Chandler/Gilbert area. This will be the first location for the club in Arizona.
Along with these initial franchise locations, PickUp is targeting accelerated expansion starting in early 2017.
