PHIT America, in a partnership with Play Tennis Month, will hold One Million Calorie Burn, a three-hour cardio tennis session being held in Orlando, FL, on April 20.
More than 250 people will be working to burn one million calories during a group fitness session. The event is being held at the USTA National Headquarters (1000 USTA Blvd. by Lake Nona) from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
PHIT America is bringing the One Million Calorie Burn to Orlando next Friday (April 20) as it kicks off PHIT America Month in May. The One Million Calorie Burn is a three-hour cardio tennis group fitness class at the USTA National Headquarters (1000 USTA Blvd. by Lake Nona) involving more than 200 volunteers who will be attempting to burn, as a group, one million calories in one three-hour fitness session from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
The event will call attention to the ‘Inactivity Pandemic.’ Right now, 82.4 million, or 27.6 percent, of Americans are physically inactive. Physical inactivity for low-income Americans is even worse and at a critical stage. 40 percent of low income Americans are totally inactive. Overall, U.S. children rank 47th out of 50 countries in worldwide fitness.
PHIT America is working to combat the issue by distributing GO! Grants to elementary school PE programs. PHIT America is also busy promoting and organizing PHIT America Month in May, and May is also Play Tennis Month.
