PHIT America and Kids in the Game have the right program for your school. It’s called AMPED—a new school-based running program designed to amplify education. AMPED encourages children to get active every day before school.
For 25 schools around the U.S., this program will be absolutely free. The application process is quick and easy, so, apply now for your school to receive AMPED, free of charge. Click here to apply. The grant opened on December 12 and will stay open until January 31, 2019 at 11:59 (Pacific Standard Time). All schools will be notified by February 7 and AMPED will be mailed to schools in mid-February, just in time to start running in the spring.
AMPED is part of PHIT America’s national GO! Grants program that aims to help increase physical activity before, during, or after school by providing schools with effective physical activity programs like AMPED.
The new PHIT America videos – “Creating Healthier & Smarter Kids – The Power of Physical Education” – can be found on Videos.PHITAmerica.org. The 30-minute story is now available and a shorter version by early January. These videos are a ‘must-view’ by P.E. teachers and all parents of school-aged children. With the launch, PHIT America will be providing tools to P.E. teachers to raise funds for their school. This is in addition to the opportunity with the FREE AMPED programs.
AMPED is a school-based exercise program designed to get children physically moving and to get them prepared to learn each school day. AMPED gets students physically active before school; it amplifies the brain to be ready to learn; and allows the body to get rid of extra early morning ‘energy’ so the students are ready and prepared to learn.
The AMPED program is like an ‘exercise magnet’ as it attracts and inspires other residents of local communities to start exercising; it encourages students’ parents, siblings, and grandparents to join the students for this before-school exercise program.
“With AMPED in place before school, we will get the students’ brains primed to have a great learning experience during the day,” said PHIT America Founder Jim Baugh. “There is no better way for these local children to start their school days than getting AMPED – running and walking together.”
“Students, parents, teachers and school administrators love the AMPED program,” noted John Ballantine, Founder, KIDS in the GAME. “It is a winner for everyone involved. AMPED will help these children build fitness and socialization habits that will last a lifetime. Students are inspired to perspire.”
