PGA TOUR Superstore has awarded a $5,000 grant to The First Tee of Phoenix, which positively impacts the lives of more than 80,000 young people by providing educational programs that build character, instill life-enhancing values and promote healthy choices through the game of golf.

“The First Tee transforms the lives of young people through character education and the Nine Core Values,” said PGA TOUR Superstore President and CEO Dick Sullivan. The First Tee of Phoenix does an extraordinary job of reaching tens of thousands of young people during the school day and in after-school and summer programs.

Across the country, PGA TOUR Superstore and its store associates support The First Tee chapters. In addition to grants, PGA TOUR Superstore provides young people with access to state-of-the-art teaching, club fitting and training.

PGA TOUR Superstore is owned and operated by Golf & Tennis Pro Shop, Inc., whose controlling owner and chairman is Arthur M. Blank, retired Home Depot co-founder and owner of the Atlanta Falcons and a Trustee of The First Tee.

In partnership with The Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation, PGA TOUR Superstore supports The First Tee chapters reaching young people in Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Delray Beach, Denver, Myrtle Beach, Naples, Phoenix and Paramus. Mr. Blank became a Trustee of The First Tee in January 2012, committing $1 million to the youth development organization through his family foundation.

The First Tee of Phoenix (www.thefirstteephoenix.org) is one of approximately 200 youth development chapters of The First Tee. Serving young people in Maricopa County from all walks of life, The First Tee of Phoenix teaches valuable life skills and character lessons through creative activities and instructional programs that incorporate the fundamental teachings of golf.
