Petzl America is launching a partnership with the HERA (Health, Empowerment, Research, and Advocacy) Foundation, in which sales proceeds of a co-branded carabiner will raise funds for HERA’s initiatives in treating ovarian cancer. HERA is a non-profit foundation dedicated to raising awareness for ovarian cancer and empowering women to take control of their health, with the intention of combating the disease. For every HERAbiner sold, Petzl will donate $1 to HERA, raising funds and awareness of the foundation.

The limited edition carabiner is Petzl’s popular Attache Lock model engraved with “HERA Climb4Life” and featuring the foundation’s signature turquoise blue.

HERAbiners are sold with a small information tag briefly explaining several key facts
women need to know about ovarian cancer.

Sean Patrick, ovarian cancer survivor, Executive Director, and
Founder of HERA, says the HERAbiner is already proving to be a
crag-side conversation starter. “The HERAbiner has the potential to
touch the lives of a lot of people who may not have been thinking
about ovarian cancer,” said Patrick. “From the proceeds of sales
helping the foundation, to casual conversations radiating awareness,
one piece of climbing gear can make a difference.”

The HERAbiner has a suggested retail price of $13.95 and is already
available at climbing shops nationwide.
