Peter Glenn of Vermont is closing its doors at the Berlin store after more than 50 years in business. It’s the ski retailer’s only Vermont location.

A statement from the company said, “After more than 52 years selling Skis, Snowboards, Skateboards, Accessories and Outerwear clothing in Vermont, 20 years at this location, Peter Glenn of Vermont, will close their doors,” the press release stated. “Peter Glen (sic) operates 15 other stores in the southern United States which will not be closing.”

In the release, the company said Peter Glenn would hold a sale beginning Feb. 25 to liquidate the inventory.

The Peter Glenn operation was launched in 1958 by then-ski coach Ned
Hamilton. The store was named after Hamilton’s son, Peter Glenn
Hamilton.

Peter Glenn now has 10 locations in Florida, including a clearance center. It also has a store in Richmond, VA; and a clearance center in Atlanta, GA.

The company started in Vermont but it is now headquartered in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
