Peter Devin, the outdoor group director for Nielsen in charge of the Outdoor Retailer and Fly Fishing Retailer trade shows, has decided to move on to pursue other opportunities “within and around” the outdoor industry. Devin spent five years working to create great trade show experiences in Salt Lake City and Denver with Nielsen. Nielsen’s VP for the sports group, Joe Flynn, is currently working on the restructuring plan to replace Devin.

“I've been honored to lead and work with such a solid team at Outdoor Retailer and FlyFishing Retailer, and the Shows are in solid hands going forward,” Devin wrote in an email. “The time is right for me now to advance other ventures personally and professionally, of which I will announce within the next few weeks.”

Devin told The B.O.S.S. Report that he has several opportunities that he is trying to pursue and is confident that he will remain in the outdoor industry. “It’s been a great five years, but the timing was right for me to leave and give the team some time to adjust and prepare for Summer Market and Fly Fishing Retailer,” he said.
