Performance Health signed World Champion, World Cup Champion, and Olympic Gold Medalist, Lindsey Vonn as a brand ambassador for TheraBand, an elastic resistance, rehab and exercise product company that is part of the Performance Health family of brands.
The most decorated woman in the history of alpine skiing, Vonn has gold medals from the 2010 Vancouver Olympics and 2009 World Championships, as well as the all-time women’s World Cup record for career wins. She also owns the record for second most World Cup wins by any ski racer, male or female.
“Lindsey and I use TheraBand products all the time whether it’s in her rehab or just her regular training sessions,” said Lindsay Winninger, Vonn’s physical therapist. “They’re extremely easy to travel with and the products are something that we can use to vary her workouts. Sometimes athletes can get bored in the gym with just doing squats or lunges and things like that, so adding in some of the resistance band work and other products with the weight training mixes things up.”
“With each of her injuries and all of her successes, Lindsey gets the full benefit of TheraBand products for performance and recovery. They are part of her training and help her stay fast and win. To officially partner with her and demonstrate how a combination of Lindsey’s unconquerable spirit, a talented healthcare professional, and innovative TheraBand tools creates amazing possibilities is absolutely perfect,” said Michael Bull, brand manager at Performance Health, parent company of TheraBand. “We’re excited to work with Lindsey and her team on her road to recovery, breaking the all-time world cup record, and adding to her medal count.”
“I use TheraBand in pretty much everything I do with rehab and training,” said Vonn. “If you walk into any Physical Therapist’s office you find a million TheraBand products all over the place, and everyone uses them for a reason…because they work! It’s just part of my routine now. Whether I’m coming back from injury or not, we use the products for maintenance, and not just recovery, but also for core and stability training or using muscles that you aren’t normally using when you do some of the heavier weighted exercises.”
