413002Performance Bicycle is expanding its efforts to increase breast cancer awareness through its continued support of the American Cancer Society (ACS).

In 2015, Performance raised $21,499 for ACS through customer donations and a matching contribution. This year, again during the month of October, Performance will accept donations to ACS at all stores nationwide, and now online at performancebike.com. Performance will make a matching contribution equal to all donations collected up to $10,000 in total. Customers who make a $3 or more donation in store will receive a special “A Great Ride For A Great Cause” wristband while supplies last.

Performance Bicycle will also donate to ACS 10 percent of sales from 2016 limited edition Performance Men’s and Women’s Breast Cancer Awareness cycling jerseys and a Spin Doctor bicycle pump. Cyclists can purchase the items at their local Performance Bicycle store, as well as online at performancebike.com.

Performance Bicycle will host its second annual “A Great Ride For A Great Cause” national bike ride at 9 a.m. on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at all Performance Bicycle store locations. The rides will last approximately one hour at a comfortable 12 to 15 mph pace. All rides are “No Rider Left Behind,” meaning they are perfect for both new and experienced cyclists. A special event after the ride offers participants the opportunity to enjoy a meal, relax, share stories and offer encouragement. “A Great Ride For A Great Cause” is part of Performance Bicycle’s nationwide Great Ride Series group rides.

“We were excited to see all the support from cyclists last year. I encourage cyclists of all levels and abilities to ride with us again this year at their local Performance Bicycle location,” said Performance Bicycle Director of Community Relations Chris London. “We all have some connection to this disease, directly or indirectly, and we can all do something, big or small, to continue the advancement of breast cancer research, treatment and further the ACS’s fight to eradicate this horrible disease.”
