Performance Bicycle, the leading cycling chain in the U.S., said The League of American Bicyclists has recognized its corporate headquarters as a Gold Level Bicycle Friendly Business, placing Performance Bicycle at the forefront of making American workplaces more competitive, sustainable and attractive to the best and brightest associates.

The Gold Level status requires that a business excel at meeting the four E’s from The League of American Bicyclists: Encouragement, Engineering, Education and Evaluation.
·      Encouragement: There are incentives for employees to bicycle to work, including a guaranteed ride home program, organized social rides and encouragement to participate in Bike Month activities like the National Bike Challenge.
·      Engineering: Business has ample, safe, secure, and well-designed bike parking for employees and customers. Shared bikes, repair services and shower facilities are available. Business is advocating for improved local riding conditions for bicyclists. .
·      Education: Bike-route-mapping assistance is available for employees; bike safety classes are available on a recurring basis. Business actively promotes safe bicycling to employees and customers.
·      Evaluation: Business conducts an annual survey to learn about commuting habits and barriers, sets ambitious goals to increase ridership and displays innovative methods in promoting bicycling.
