Reebok founder Paul Fireman has filed suit alleging that a longtime adviser and head of PFP Associates, the Florida firm that oversees his investments, stole more than $25 million from his family and their charitable foundation.

“Arnold Mullen was seen as a trusted advisor and friend for almost 25 years while he systematically stole more than $25 million from the Fireman family and their charitable foundation,” Fireman’s attorney, G. Joseph Curley, said in a statement.

Mullen has worked for Fireman since 1985 and was paid over $800,000 a year, plus bonuses, according to the lawsuit.

Mullen’s attorney, Louis Mrachek, told the Boston Herald that his client hasn’t stolen money from Fireman.

“Mr. Mullen’s actions are entirely explainable given the multitude of transactions that he represented Mr. Fireman in over the years,” he said.

Fireman launched Reebok in 1979 and stepped down as CEO in 2006.
