Outdoor Industry Association  (OIA) and Outdoor Retailer have announced the Outdoor University  schedule for Outdoor Retailer Winter Market (ORWM) in Salt Lake City in January. The lineup includes nearly 50 educational sessions designed to help the outdoor industry stay ahead of the curve on critical business topics.

Outdoor University sessions begin the day before the trade show, on Jan. 22, with seven sessions targeted specifically for retailers. These are being held in the afternoon, giving attendees time to attend the Outdoor Retailer All Mountain Demo in the morning. Topics covered on this “Day Zero” range from pricing psychology, upcoming product trends, new retail realities, motivating employees, leasing strategies, and more

Jan. 23-25, Outdoor University at ORWM includes more than a dozen daily sessions, covering a broad range of topics for both manufacturers and retailers, such as consumer trends, domestic manufacturing, social responsibility and fair labor, techniques for competing against Amazon, Google marketing, liability issues, time to market, online strategies and other areas of interest to outdoor businesses.

Outdoor University (OU) is OIA’s education platform, providing live, online and on-demand programming throughout the year. OIA member companies and their employees have access to online OU sessions and the full on-demand OU library free of charge as part of their OIA membership. Non-members can access OU sessions for a nominal fee.

OIA is the title sponsor of Outdoor Retailer and partners with Nielsen Expositions to present Outdoor University at Outdoor Retailer.
