Outdoor Retailer is introducing a new process and timeline for booking hotel rooms through the show’s housing block, managed by Travel Planners, the official Housing Agency for Outdoor Retailer.

In the coming weeks, qualified retailers, exhibitors, exhibitor reps and working media who booked within Outdoor Retailer’s official housing block for Summer Market 2012 will receive an email hotel confirmation from Travel Planners with instructions on how to add a credit card guarantee, provide names for each room and submit change requests. These confirmations will be sent in two phases according to which hotel you booked last year.  Any room addition requests will be added to a wait list and considered based on hotel availability.

“The changes we are putting in place will benefit all stakeholders in the outdoor industry that attend Summer Market, particularly retail buyers,” said Nielsen Expo Outdoor Group Vice President and OR Show Director Kenji Haroutunian. “The vast majority of qualified show attendees from Summer Market 2012 will get the same hotel reservation they had last year. Additionally, the new housing and transportation options we have secured will offer more choices for show goers.”

In addition to the traditional housing options, show attendees will also be able to book rooms through the newly added University of Utah Olympic Athlete Village. As with all hotels within the official housing block, complimentary shuttle transportation to and from the convention center will be provided.

Registered attendees and exhibitors who have not previously booked within the official housing block will be able to request hotel reservations in late March or early April when Summer Market 2013 badge registration opens.

Winter Market 2014 housing will open in the fall of 2013. Communications will be sent prior to opening so show participants can plan accordingly. Instructions for booking Summer Market 2013 housing will also be available online at outdoorretailer.com/housing and through Outdoor Retailer social media channels.
