VNU Sports Group announced they will change the 2004 Outdoor Retailer Winter Market show dates to run from Friday, January 30th through Monday, February 2nd, 2004. Winter Market’s 2004 dates had originally been scheduled for January 29th-February 1st.

In an effort to give the outdoor industry a little breathing room during the hectic winter trade show season, Outdoor Retailer made the decision to keep their traditional late-January show timing but start the show one day later.

“It is unfortunate that SIA has once again made the decision to move on top of the historically established Outdoor Retailer dates, as there are customers who need to be part of both markets.
As a result, we’ve decided to start the show one day later, on a Friday, as we did this past Winter Market,” said Peter Devin OR’s trade show director.

“With the advent of such a busy show season in February, OR is committed to hosting Winter Market in late January. The recent success of Winter Market 2003 in Salt Lake City — in terms of attendance and energy — was evidence that this timing is correct,” added Devin.

“OR does a great job of listening to the outdoor industry and responding to their feedback. The new show dates are what the industry was looking for — it should help people juggle their travel schedules next winter,” said OIA President, Frank Hugelmeyer.
