Outdoor Research announced the opening of a new store in Bellingham, WA. The Seattle-based outdoor brand operates two other stores in the state, including a flagship in Seattle and an outlet in Des Moines.

Located in the historic Fairhaven neighborhood, the 2,736-square-foot space features a curated selection of OR’s technical gear, including mountain bike apparel, outerwear and sportswear, alongside heritage gloves, gaiters and headwear. The store will also serve as a hub for the local outdoor community.

“Bellingham is a launch pad for so many outdoor adventures—whether you’re riding Galbraith, skiing Baker or exploring the North Cascades,” said the store’s manager, Ben Harvey. “We’re beyond excited to open our doors in a community that lives and breathes the outdoors, and we can’t wait to welcome both locals and visitors into our space.”

Founded in 1981 in Seattle, WA, by nuclear physicist Ron Gregg, Outdoor Research designs technical outdoor gear and apparel inspired by the mountains and seas of the Pacific Northwest. Outdoor Research’s research-led approach to product development has garnered the company a solid reputation in the outdoor industry.

Outdoor Research will host a grand opening timed with the Bellingham, WA, Northwest Tune-up Mountain Bike Festival, July 11-13.

“We’re stoked to open just in time for Northwest Tune Up, a Bellingham tradition,” added Harvey. “It’s the perfect way to kick things off —connecting with the mountain bike community, soaking up the festival energy and showcasing pieces from our Freewheel MTB collection, built for high-output trail riding, technical terrain and long, fun days in the saddle.”
