Osprey Packs Inc. will be supplying a selection of their newly-redesigned Aether and Ariel backpacks for use as
part of the Appalachian Trail Conservancy’s 2006 Ridge Runner program. The Appalachian Trail Conservancy (ATC) is the non-profit steward of the 2,175-mile Appalachian National Scenic Trail that is used by approximately 3 to 4 million people annually.

Since 1986, the ATC Ridge Runners have patrolled sections of the Trail helping to
prevent and mitigate misuse of the Appalachian Trail by performing educational and
public information functions promoting Leave No Trace principals. Each ATC Ridge
Runner receives emergency medical training, instruction in negative behavior control and
effective action protocol as well as on-site instruction from local Trail managers in
handling concerns at specific shelters, Trail access points, and other high use areas.

Osprey’s Aether and Ariel backpacks provided to the ATC Ridge Runners will deliver
the ultimate comfort and performance Osprey is known for. In addition to providing this
support for the ATC Ridge Runners, Osprey also proudly supports the ATC through a
Pro Deal contribution program as well as providing support at the annual Appalachian
Trail Days in Damascus, Virginia.
