Osprey Packs has hired veteran outdoor specialty rep Bill Chandler as its outdoor sales manager, a new position created to enhance Osprey’s focus on customer service while supporting programs at retail.

“Bill brings more than 25 years of experience as an owner of an independent rep agency,” said Brad Bates, sales director of Osprey Packs. “His experience and know-how will further enhance our retailer partnerships in the outdoor channel.”

Previous to joining Osprey, Chandler was the owner of Nomad Inc., an independent wholesale sales and marketing agency in the Southeast focused in the specialty outdoor, run, and ski channels. Most recently, he served as director of sales for Sherpa Adventure Gear.

“I absolutely look forward to joining the Osprey family and putting my years of outdoor sales experience into play,” says Chandler. “My focus is to increase sales volume, retailer profitability, brand presence and the overall sustainability of the Osprey brand in the specialty arena. Not to mention a fabulous opportunity to relocate my family to the Four Corners area!”

Osprey Packs is headquartered in Cortez, Colorado, near the rugged San Juan Mountains and maintains a product development office in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, near the factories where they manufacture their products, ensuring face-to-face relationships and transparency with their suppliers. In 2009, Osprey opened a design office in Mill Valley, California, a hub of design talent and the birthplace of mountain biking. All three of these offices play a crucial role in creating Osprey gear that lasts a lifetime.
