Outdoor pack and travel luggage manufacturer Osprey Packs said its CEO of 15 years, Tom Barney, is leaving the company.
Officials gave no reason for the departure, but said Barney would remain with Osprey until October 28, adding that the company is in the final stages of searching for his replacement. A new CEO is expected by the end of the year.
“Under Tom’s excellent leadership and direction, Osprey experienced significant sales growth and a broad increase in its retail and distribution partners. He helped establish Osprey as not only a leader in the outdoor industry, but also an excellent business partner,” said Osprey Packs Founder and Owner Mike Pfotenhauer.
“Additionally, Barney has been a passionate advocate for the outdoor industry and Outdoor Industry Association as well as supporting the growth, culture and welfare of Osprey’s ever growing employee base,” company officials said.
Pfotenhauer added, “All of us at Osprey want to thank Tom for his years of service and wish him and his family the best in their future endeavors.”
