Based on numerous discussions at Summer Market and recent industry interest, Outdoor Retailer will showcase and highlight companies that are taking active steps towards a healthy and greener outdoor industry. Making its debut at the 2005 Winter Market Green Steps hopes to raise awareness on sustainability and showcase companies within the outdoor industry that support and encourage a healthy environment.
All exhibitors at Winter Market 2005 are welcome to participate in the program and a company's Green Steps can range from recycling in the workplace to donating time/resources for community and environmental causes.
The opportunities for the Winter Market Green Steps program currently include handbook highlights, enhanced online exposure and aisle carpet overlays all of which identify a company as taking Green Steps. Outdoor Retailer exhibitors interested in participating in Green Steps should contact their Account Executive in the OR sales department to learn more about the program.
“The environment in which we live is integral to the health of the business of the outdoors and companies that are committed to helping sustain that health should be called out. By highlighting outdoor companies that currently take “Green Steps”, we are helping to emphasize the importance of building a greener marketplace,” said Peter Devin, Trade Show Director for Outdoor Retailer.
“A special thanks should go to Scott Leonard of Indigenous Designs who has been a driving force behind the creation of Green Steps,” added Devin.
