Project BLUE, has added ONeill as an official partner. As a project BLUE partner, ONeill joins Billabong, Dakine, Electric, Nixon and Reef in their quest to support the international efforts of the Surfrider Foundation by creating special edition products. Beginning in spring 08, ONeill will offer project BLUE apparel for men and women including 100% organic cotton printed tees and organic cotton blended hoodies.
“O'Neill is stoked to become a member of project BLUE,” said Chief Executive Officer Toby Bost. “O'Neill is a brand that was founded on the concept of being able to surf longer and we want generations to come to be able to enjoy the ocean and its coastlines. By becoming a member of project BLUE, we are partnering with other industry leaders to generate environmental awareness to protect our oceans and the spirit of surfing.”
Available to consumers in January 2008, the ONeill project BLUE products will be sold at leading retail stores nationwide and on swell.com, the official online retailer of project BLUE. Proceeds from the sales of each piece will be donated directly to the Surfrider Foundation.
“We are thrilled to have ONeill join the project BLUE initiative,” said project BLUE Founder Vipe Desai. “They are an iconic brand in the surf industry and their partnership will allow us to reach out to an even larger audience of consumers who want to help protect our coastlines.”
