On, the shoe company based in Zurich, Switzerland, has named running industry veteran Ted Goodlake to the position of national director of sales, North America. The announcement was made by Olivier Bernhard, the six-time Ironman winner and co-founder of On.
“Ted's two decades of experience in the specialty running category will ensure the continued growth of On in North America,” said Mr. Bernhard. “His long-standing relationships, footwear industry knowledge, successful track record, plus his personal love of running make him the ideal person to lead the growth of On.”
Goodlake comes to On from Puma, North America, where he held the position of national sales manager Complete Running Division from 2005-‘12. Under his direction, a team of nine independent running-only sales representatives achieved substantial growth, distribution and sales for Puma across North America. Previously, he served as an independent sales agent for PaTony Sports from 2002-05, selling Puma products to independent retailers in the Pacific Northwest.
Throughout his 20+ year career in the running industry he has also worked for GoldToe Socks, Etonic Inc., Brooks Sports and Fleet Feet.
During his successful collegiate running career at the University of Tennessee during the mid-1980’s, Ted was a 10-time All-SEC honoree in cross-country, indoor and outdoor track and a member of six All-SEC Championship teams. A native of Fallbrook, CA., Ted and his family currently reside in Beaverton, OR.
The 2012 On collection includes the all new and ultra light Cloudracer competition model; the new Cloudster entry model; plus the redesigned Cloudsurfer and Cloudrunner. The patented CloudTec system, comprised of three-dimensional elements or “Clouds” made of highly flexible circular pieces of rubber, is at the heart of On’s adaptive sole technology. The radically new design combines a cushioned landing with a barefoot takeoff. The clever rubber pieces cushion your landing, then disappear for a natural run and a powerful push-off.
