The Outdoor Industries Womens Coalition (OIWC) is soliciting nominations for its annual 2009 Pioneering Woman and First Ascent awards.
The nomination process is quick and easy and can be completed online at www.oiwc.org/awards. The deadline to submit nominations for both awards is Dec. 15, 2008. Please nominate individuals who will be at Winter Market and are available to attend the OIWC event.
The Pioneering Woman award honors women within the Outdoor Industry who have furthered the vision of the OIWC by demonstrating an outstanding commitment to mentoring female colleagues. To compliment the Pioneering Woman award, the OIWC created the First Ascent Award. This award recognizes a woman new to the industry who has demonstrated strong potential for leadership. It also furthers the vision of OIWC by increasing visibility of talented young women exhibiting the skills for long-term success.
The recipients of the Pioneering Woman Award and First Ascent awards will be announced at the annual winter OIWC Gathering on Friday, Jan. 23, 2009. The event will be held at Pierpont Place (163 W Pierpont Ave) and will include great food and networking opportunities. Details regarding the time of the awards presentation will be announced at a later date.
This year OIWC will offer both award recipients a free one-year membership to the coalition.
