The OIWC is soliciting candidates for a “The Workshop,” a new program that gives women a chance to pitch their innovations or product ideas to outdoor industry executives for feedback in Salt Lake City immediately prior to the Outdoor Retailer Summer Market.

The initial phase of the initiative, which the OIWC has dubbed “Pitchfest,” provides a platform for women to submit their new innovation or product ideas for a chance to live pitch in front of influential industry CEO’s and gain insight, visibility, and valuable feedback.

The applications, a combination of video and written presentations, are reviewed by a panel of industry experts who rate them based on innovation, impact, viability, and opportunity for industry change. Five to ten finalists will be invited to present in front of industry CEO’s prior to the Outdoor Retailer Summer Market. The finalists will not only receive next-level advice from the experts, but also will benefit from media exposure, a public speaking coach, admission to Outdoor Retailer Summer Market, and more!

Deadline for 2015 Pitchfest applications is June 1, 2015, 11:59p.m. MST.

Finalists will live pitch on August 4, 2015 at Backcountry headquarters in Park City, Utah.

The Workshop is funded in part by The REI Foundation's Mary Anderson Legacy Grant.
