The day before OR Summer Market opened, the OIA ratified its new Board members and Board officers. Lee Fromson, CEO, Cascade Designs was re-elected as Board Chairperson; the new 1st Vice Chair is Kim Coupounas, CEO, GoLite; 2nd Vice Chair is Jim Clark, CEO, Watermark; Treasurer is Dan Templin, CFO, The North Face; and Secretary is Mike Wallenfels, VP Sales and Marketing at Mountain Hardwear.
Larry Harrison, president of Earth Games; Lee Fromson; and Debbie Motz, executive director of EORA, were all re-elected as voting board members while Will Manzer, CEO of EMS; and Jay Steere, Director of Outer Performance Wear at Timberland were both elected to their first terms as voting board members. The OIA has limited voting board members to two voting terms. Peter Devin, group show director for Outdoor Retailer, and Paul Gagner, VP Sales & Marketing at Gregory Mountain, were appointed to second term voting seats by the Board. Dan Templin, CFO of The North Face, and Skip Yowell, VP Global Public Relations at Jansport, were re-appointed to non-voting seats while Bill Kelly, VP/GM of Johnson Outdoors, and Rob Mitchell, VP Marketing & Product at Smartwool, were appointed to first terms as non-voting board members.
