OHM Fitness reported it would open 70 EMS fitness studios in the Texas Triangle through its newest franchise partner over the next few years.
Shivam Khanna recently secured the area representative rights for OHM Fitness and will bring 70 locations to Texas, including 25 in Dallas Fort Worth, 20 in Austin and San Antonio, and 25 in Houston. Khanna plans to open by himself 25 locations and is searching for retail space in Dallas Fort Worth with Jim Dunn of Retail Union Partners to open by the end of 2023. The other 45 locations will be awarded to qualified multi-unit franchisees.
The first OHM Fitness studio opened in the company’s headquarters in Scottsdale, AZ in August of 2022 and, since then, the company, to date, has sold the rights to twelve area regions, totaling more than 275 future studios. Territories in development include Arizona, San Diego, South Florida, New Jersey, Washington D.C, Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, North Carolina, and Texas.
“The Texas Triangle is one of the fastest-growing areas in the United States and is a perfect place to introduce the OHM Fitness brand,” said Khanna. “OHM Fitness is revolutionizing the fitness industry for the digital age by utilizing a tech-forward proprietary suit to essentially hack working out. This gives people a safe, convenient, and effective strategy for upholding their health regardless of their fitness ability or experience.”
Khanna is a seasoned 20-year franchisee with experience developing franchises across Texas. He started with Subway restaurants and was involved in Massage Envy from 2008 to a successful exit in 2019. He is involved with the European Wax Center. As a Dallas local, Khanna plans to expand the brand in his home city and then open in the Houston and Austin/San Antonio areas.
“At OHM Fitness, we have created the opportunity to beat your brain at its own game,” said co-founder Doug Payne. “Your brain sends electrical signals to your muscles to make them move. But muscles can only contract about once per second or repetition. OHM Fitness lets you use science and technology to actively game the system. We are revolutionizing the fitness industry with this wireless technology.”
