Pacific Sunwear total sales for the four weeks of October of fiscal 2003 were $62.6 million, an increase of 14.7% over total sales of $54.6 million for the four weeks of October of fiscal 2002. Company same store sales increased 4.6% for the comparable four-week period ended Nov. 1, 2003 with PacSun same store sales up 3.4% and d.e.m.o. same store sales up 14.1%.
“Accessories and footwear sales were very strong during the month but our fall apparel categories were weak,” stated Greg Weaver, chairman and chief executive officer. “We remain comfortable with our earnings per share guidance for the third quarter of $0.29. We remain confident about our assortments as we enter the fourth quarter,” concluded Weaver.
Total sales for the third quarter of fiscal 2003 (thirteen weeks) were $281.3 million, an increase of 23.3% over total sales of $228.2 million for the third quarter of fiscal 2002 (thirteen weeks). Company same store sales increased 13.8% for the third quarter of fiscal 2003 with PacSun same store sales up 13.2% and d.e.m.o. same store sales up 19.9%.
Total sales for the first nine months of fiscal 2003 (thirty-nine weeks) were $714.0 million, an increase of 22.9% over total sales of $580.8 million for the first nine months of fiscal 2002 (thirty-nine weeks). Company same store sales increased 13.7% for the first nine months of fiscal 2003 with PacSun same store sales up 12.4% and d.e.m.o. same store sales up 25.5%.
