Honoring vendors whom its membership feels have best
serviced ski and snowboard shops, the National Ski & Snowboard Retailers Association (NSSRA) presented five industry suppliers with its “Supplier of the Year” awards during the recent SIA SnowSports Show in Las Vegas.

“It is important that we as retailers let the industry know the companies
that seem to us to represent best practices,” said Brad Nelson, Hi Tempo
Ski, Bear Mountain Lake, Minn. and current NSSRA Chairman of the Board.

The Association membership was asked to vote based on the following
criteria: (1) Innovative Product Development; (2) Responsive Customer
Service; (3) Timely Shipping; (4) Shop Supportive Marketing Programs, and
(5) Knowledgeable and Cooperative Rep/Sales Force.

The recipients of the Third Annual “Supplier of the Year” Awards were:

  • Alpine Equipment: Salomon North America, James Curleigh and Mike Adams
    accepting;

  • Alpine Softgoods: Sport Obermeyer, Klaus Obermeyer accepting;

  • Snowboard Equipment: Ride Snowboards, Scott Mavis accepting;

  • Snowboard Softgoods: Burton Snowboards, Greg Dacyshyn and Clark Gundlach
    accepting;

  • Winter Sports Accessories: Seirus Innovation, Dominic Chenella accepting.

The Awards, presented by NSSRA President Thomas B Doyle and Board member
Harvey Chalker, Alpine Sports Inc., Santa Fe N.M., were given in conjunction
with the SKI magazine Gold Medal Shop Awards.
