Nordstrom is closing its Santa Monica store in California at Santa Monica Place and its St. Louis location at Missouri’s Saint Louis Galleria.

Both stores will close in late August.

“We believe we’ll be best able to serve customers in each region by leveraging our surrounding stores and through our digital channels,” Nordstrom said in a media statement. “Decisions like this are never easy, and we understand the impact they have on our team members. We’re committed to taking care of our employees through this transition, including supporting those who are interested in finding another role within Nordstrom.”

Several competitors, including Macy’s, Kohl’s and JC Penney, have recently announced store closings.

The Gallera location first opened back in 2011 while the Santa Monica opened in 2010.

Nordstrom in May went private after being acquired by members of the family and El Puerto de Liverpool, a Mexican real estate and department store company.
