Nomad Anglers has opened its first store in metro Detroit and its third location in Michigan.

The 1,100-square-foot shop opened June 17 in the Village of Rochester Hills, a shopping center named for a town located about a half hour north of Detroit.

Nomad Anglers other two stores are located on the other side of Michigan in Grand Rapids.

The company is owned by Brian Bielecki, who in 2005 purchased the M. Chance Fly Fishing Specialties store he had managed while attending Michigan State University. He renamed the business Nomad Anglers in 2007 and opened a second location in Grand Rapids in 2011.

Nomad Anglers carries gear from Orvis, Sage, Simms, Patagonia, Fishpond and Temple Fork Outfitters.
